At the aforementioned CPAC event, a member of the Paul family won their bogus presidential straw poll for the 111th time in a row.
In the world of the sane, a Paul victory like that would cast a real 'pall' over the entire proceedings, but since many of these folks are the same ones who think vaccinations, ecology, evolution, and sex education are all plots orchestrated by either the Kremlin or aliens from another planet (not to be confused with our own nation's undocumented aliens who are too busy collecting welfare to orchestrate anything), yet another Paul victory is a sign to them that the rest of America may finally take their event seriously.
Not.
At yet another gathering, this one in the US Congress, the most accurate headline summing up Benjamin Netanyahu's recent appearance was the one penned by humorist Andy Borowitz for the New Yorker magazine: Republican Speaker Boehner Calls Netanyahu Closest Ally in Fight against Obama.
Pretty funny!
On another subject entirely, the Boston Globe posited the question of how Republican officeholders would deal with the voter backlash if the Supreme Court actually ended Obamacare.
The answer, badly!
Meanwhile, according to the journal, Alcoholism, a study of a large number of 'You Tube' videos your younger children regularly watch revealed that the negative consequences of either binge drinking or excessive drinking are virtually nil.
Any wonder why so many kids can't wait to over indulge?

Terrible news for 2016 Republican candidates: spending last quarter remained strong and all the economic indicators continue to point to a thriving economy, to more jobs, and toward a real, sustainable recovery.
And the rightwing Republican's response to that reality:
Obama is crazy to not give the rich more tax cuts, while allowing increased taxation on the middle class.

No, my disappointment is the apparent flip-flop by two liberal Supreme Court Justices, Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor on the subject of cameras in the Supreme Court courtroom.
Once advocates of an open and transparent process which would have allowed the public to hear and see the dueling arguments on major culture war issues, both have seemingly been dragged to the dark side by their conservative colleagues, claiming now to oppose the rest of us hearing and seeing both the arguments and then the opinions they generate.
Sad. Sad. Sad.
Now for the 'laugh out loud' headline of the first 15 years of the 21st century:
"I still respect Obama": Bibi
Maybe the best, and truest response to the overtly political visit by Bibi Netynyahu was penned by humorist Borowitz who wrote the headline.
