Michael Goldman is currently President of Goldman Associates located in Boston, Mass, and a principal in the O’Neil/Goldman Group.

After earning his B.A. in political science in 1971 and his M.S. in governmental public affairs and public relations from the Boston University School of Public Communication in 1975, Goldman worked first for the Dukakis Administration as First Assistant to the Commissioner for External Affairs at the MDC and later for both the City of Boston under Mayor Kevin White and as special consultant at the Boston Regional Office of the Federal Trade Commission during the Carter Administration.  

Formed in 1979, Goldman Associates has provided communication consulting services to dozens of private and public sector entities, as well as to over individual 150 political campaigns.

In recent years Goldman has served as the Senior Campaign Consultant for the successful campaigns of Maura Healey for Massachusetts Attorney General; Suzanne Bump for Massachusetts State Auditor; and Senior Media Consultant for the successful mayoral campaign of Martin J. Walsh of Boston.

The O’Neil/Goldman Group was founded in 2014 and works with private clients on projects and issues which impact the public square.

Goldman, who has been recognized multiple times by Boston Magazine as one of the most powerful people working in Massachusetts politics and media today has been the recipient of five 'Best of Boston' awards for excellence in politics and multiple national ‘Pollie’ awards from the American Association of Political Consultants, His quotes on media and politics have appeared in every major print outlet in the nation including the New York Times, the Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Time, Newsweek, Business Week, and Vanity Fair.

In addition, Goldman has also appeared as a guest on virtually every national radio and television network in America including the Today Show, CNN, MSNBC, and Radio Free Europe, and taught or lectured at virtually every major college and university in New England, including serving for over a decade as a lecturer in the Political Science Department at Tufts University.

Goldman currently is teaching in the Government Department at Suffolk University; the Communication Department at Salem State University; and in the Law and Business Doctoral Program at Northeastern University.

From 1989 thru 2001, Goldman also served as co-host for a number of weekend political talk programs for WRKO-AM in Boston. Additionally, from 2002 thru 2006 Goldman was hired by Bloomberg Radio in New York City to both Co-host a national daily talk show as well as to host a second Saturday morning program featuring former New York City Mayor Ed Koch and former NY United States Senator Al D'Amato.

Since returning full time to Boston in 2006, Mr. Goldman served as a frequent commentator and political analyst on WBZ – AM radio; WGBH - FM radio; and NECN television and additionally has resumed writing a weekly Sunday political column for the Lowell Sun in Lowell, Ma.
